Empowering Latino Futures (ELF) is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 1997, headquartered today in Fallbrook, California. ELF's programs recognize excellence in literature through The Latino Book & Family Festivals and The International Latino Book Awards (ILBA). Authors, translators, and illustrators are honored for their books written in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. About one-third of our entries come from major publishers. Others come from medium-sized and small publishers or are self-published titles.
