Turabian Citation Style Guide 9th Edition: E. Volume with a Specific Title in a Multi-Volume Work

Volume with a Specific Title in a Multivolume Work

The general format below refers to citing a specific volume of a multivolume work. The rules for citing a specific volume in a multivolume set depends on whether the volume you want to cite has a different title from the work as a whole. If it does have a different title, then this title should be listed in your citation. You will also provide the volume and general title after the specific volume title. Note: The word "volume" should be abbreviated to vol. and arabic numbers should be used for the volume number (p. 171). If the volume does not have an individual title and you are citing only one of them please refer to page 172 of the manual for Notes-Bibliography Style and page 239 for the Parenthetical Citations-Reference List Style.
